Wordpress 2.5

1login.jpg

A visual refresh. And a technical refresh. Your blog looks the same. You can manage content better.

2dashboard.jpg

A quick look at the new dashboard. Removes all the close clutter. The admin features are neatly tucked into the right side of screen in a smaller font and post/media management is what comes clearly in view when you login and look at the new dashboard. We still have the recent comments and incoming links sections after logging in.

LinkedList

If Blogrolling or some such similar site is charging you just to let you display your links in the order in which they were last updated, then you’re helping them engage in an activity that’s no less than criminal.

Why do I say criminal? Because you can do the same thing on your blog/website for free using this amazing script I discovered on Google Code. It’s called LinkedList which takes advantage of Google’s Feed API to display links according to the date they were last updated.

100 Open Source Downloads

No, it’s not the “Top 100,” nor does this list contain the “only” 100 open source downloads you should consider – there’s a big ocean out there, so please keep swimming.

On The Lot vs. Sony Crackle

Yes, Sony has finally got rid of it’s previous video upload service releasing Crackle.com which invites people to post videos which are rated by their team and specific users. The best videos are showcased on the website and as they gain popularity they increase their chances of becoming famous.

How famous is the question? When you come home after working on a computer for the last 10 hours, you just don’t feel like switching on one again. So what you do is switch on your TiVo and play the recorded episode of On The Lot which is far more pleasing than clicking a dozen times and reaching the Crackle website.
